High-output cardiac failure is a less common form of heart failure, and although it may sound contradictory at first, in the simplest form, it is still the heart's inability to provide sufficient blood for the body’s demand. Apart from complications like bleeding, stenosis, infection, and thrombosis, even high-output cardiac failure has been a matter of concern for these patients. Sever risk factors like upper arm AVF with brachial artery anastomosis, male sex, and volume expansion has been identified. High output cardiac failure that resolves with closure of the AV shunt is a well-documented but rare complication of AVGs and autogenous fistulae.61 The greatest risk appears to be in people with underlying organic heart disease and an autogenous fistula placed in the upper arm (e.g., brachiocephalic fistula). 61 However, high output failure has been reported with ePTFE grafts. 62 The diagnosis of septic shock was rectified to high-output heart failure because of cardiogenic pulmonary edema associated with warm extremities, preserved left ventricular function, high cardiac index, and arteriovenous fistula. Apart from complications like bleeding, stenosis, infection, and thrombosis, even high-output cardiac failure has been a matter of concern for these patients.

In the liver, arteriovenous malformations occur in more than 70% of Heart failure is a pathophysiological state in which cardiac output is insufficient to meet the needs of the body and lungs. The term "congestive heart failure" is often used, as one of the common symptoms is congestion, or build-up of fluid in a person's tissues and veins in the lungs or other parts of the body. Se hela listan på patient.info This type of arteriovenous communication, when present on the same side as a functioning kidney, results, in a significant number of cases, in a characteristic syndrome that includes the association of high-output cardiac failure, diastolic hypertension, and the presence of a continuous bruit within the abdomen. Se hela listan på oatext.com ‘Heart failure’ is a term that may be loosely or precisely defined. The development of pulmonary oedema does not necessarily indicate a cardiac cause and of the cardiac causes for pulmonary oedema, not all can be attributed to left ventricular failure. 1 The majority of women developing symptoms and signs of heart failure during pregnancy have no known pre-existing cardiomyopathy.

1 Background Background. High metabolic state or shunting of blood increasing cardiac demand. Clinical Features.
high-output heart failure that in which cardiac output remains high, associated with conditions such as hyperthyroidism, anemia, and emphysema. A hyperdynamic circulatory state with elevated cardiac output, decreased peripheral vascular resistance, and sodium retention occurs in patients with portal cirrhosis. Surgical portal-systemic shunts and transjugular intrahepatic portal-systemic shunts (TIPS) have been shown to worsen the high-output state in these patients. However, clinical evidence of high-output congestive heart failure This less-common condition has been labeled ' high output heart failure '. Typically, this is caused by an underlying condition such as pregnancy, chronic anaemia, sepsis or hyperthyroidism. High-output heart failure : This type of heart failure occurs when the cardiac output is normal or high, but demand for blood flow is abnormally high and the heart is unable to satisfy the demand.
